Maina is a traditional holiday home in Greece suitable for all seasons, can accommodate 2-8 people. A stone-built 19th century tower-mansion renovated and extended in 2008, by architect and owner Elena Zervoudaki, preserving the building traditional elements and combining them with the minimal interiors to produce the sensation of serenity. The mansion is 150 sq.m. and is built into the ground slope, so that it evolves over 3 levels, each with access to the garden and yards. The house has two apartments that can be separated: the katoi (4-5 can be accomodated) and the anoi (4-5 can be accomodated). It is surrounded by a garden with olive trees, rocks and a cave, 200 meters from the village parking facilities. It is an ideal place for privacy and relaxation. Built by using local materials and techniques, rainwater harvesting and eco-friendly waste disposal system for irrigation, the house is environment-friendly. Located in the unspoiled region of Mani, in the old traditional village of Nifi , five minutes from the sea is the perfect place to enjoy a relaxing holiday between a landscape of olives, rocky mountains and the endless blue of the sea. Sunny holidays in Mani where the nature is very impressive. Mani consists of 250 sun lit villages and sites with plenty of olive trees and cactuses. It has a lot of old traditional buildings, the high stone towers being the most characteristic among them. These severe, tall stone towers of Mani stay against the limestone landscape as the old symbol of guard and freedom of Mani.They represent the family’s honour, traditions, hospitality as well as the customs of Mani. There are about 800 towers and 6 castles in Mani. Byzantine churches and classical archaeological sites prove the long history of the place.
